In the first week of January this year, the team at Housing Online was further strengthened with the addition of Dan Martin. Dan joins us as Senior Developer, taking our team up to seven in total.

Dan Martin

Dan has worked in web development for more than 25 years, most recently as Technical Director at a web agency. Before that, he spent over a decade at a large integrated agency, developing (amongst other things), SAAS products for the banking sector and a suite of tools for managing the business. In the dim and distant past, Dan has also worked in education, psychometric testing and electronics.

In his professional life, Dan is passionate about ensuring that software is built according to correct engineering principles to ensure reliability and maintainability.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys watching most sports, playing football, walking and cycling in the countryside and also reading (primarily, but not exclusively, history books).

In an attempt to learn more about our new recruit, Housing Online asked a series of searching and incisive questions:

What’s your favourite film?

I don't really watch films, but I do like The Damned Utd.

What’s your favourite TV show?

I like history and science documentaries of the sort the BBC doesn't bother to make any more.

Who are your favourite band?

Absolutely impossible to pick just one. I like most kinds of music. For the purposes of this exercise, I'll pick a band called Widowspeak.

What’s your favourite book?

These questions don't get any easier, do they? I mostly read books about history, but one of the most interesting books I've read recently is Ed Conway's Material World.

Welcome to the team, Dan. It’s a pleasure to have you join our happy gang.
