Hand holding a seedling

In June of this year, Housing Online hosted our very first webinar. The idea was to bring My Home users together to share their learnings and experiences and to help push the use of this versatile portal to the next level.

The subject of this first session was “Equalities Data Collection in My Home”. Guest speaker, Daradjeet Jagpal, Director and Legal Consultant at Information Law Solutions, ran attendees through UK Data Protection Law and the Scottish Housing Regulator’s framework for equalities data collection. Social Landlords have an obligation to gather data to demonstrate their commitment to, and progress towards eliminating discrimination. They are also bound to handle that data lawfully, fairly and transparently; to specify how that data is to be used, how it will be used and how long it will be stored.

"The idea of these webinars is to bring My Home users together to share their learnings and experiences and to help push the use of this versatile portal to the next level."

This is where the My Homes Data Collection module comes in. As demonstrated during the session by Phil Sorrell, Housing Online’s Development and Customer Relations Director, this module enables the simple, pseudonymous collection of equalities data from tenants.

Following on from the success of this session, our next webinar will be held at 14:00 on Monday 30th October. The subject is 'From Tenant Connection to Engagement: Harnessing My Home's Potential'.

We are delighted to announce that this session will feature several guest speakers who will share their invaluable experiences and insights during the session:

  • David Barrowcliffe, Communications Manager at English Rural
  • Peter Fitzpatrick, Director of Housing & Resident Services at The Iveagh Trust
  • Claire Macmillan, Housing Manager at East Lothian HA
  • Linda McLaren, Director of Housing Services at Ochil View HA
  • Carolina Padovezi de Oliveira, Corporate Project Manager at Manningham HA

This will all be followed by a short Q&A session.

The webinar is free to attend and will be hosted on Microsoft Teams.
